LRC Trip report: BLC Gunning, Jan 17 2021 – Sunday morning
A summary of the drive (around 120kms):
- Leave Hall on Victoria St to the Barton Highway
- Right on the highway towards Yass
- A short drive up the highway before turning right onto Nanima Road
- Continue to T intersection with Murrumbateman Road
- Right onto Murrumbateman Road;
- Short Drive then left onto Dicks Creek Road;
- Continue to Yass River Road and a left veer onto Yass River Road;
- Left onto Sutton Road and then a drive to Gunning;
- At the T intersection with Old Hume Highway turn right into town.
Breakfast at “The old Hume Café” in Gunning.
Russel did say to bring a Kardi as it turned out to be chilly.

Heading home:
- Resume north on Old Hume Highway and over the Meadow Creek bridge before turning right onto Collector Road;
- Right onto Marked Tree Road;
- We can stop along the way to look over Lake George and surrounds although with 14 cars, we will need to spread those stops out.
- Continue on Marked Tree Road into Gundaroo. Left at the T intersection with Sutton Road
- Finish at the Gundaroo Park.
The highlight on the way back was the launch site for the hang gliders over Lake George.
